Project Details

Poetry where it isn't "supposed" to be - Pop Up Poetry places Vanderbilt students front and center, presenting their original poems in several areas all around the campus. The poems can be found not on bulletin boards or the walls of English classes, but near bathrooms, water fountains, and elevators – places that students congregate at or pass through in high volumes, but where student art would not normally be displayed. The poems are meant to “pop up” in these unexpected places, creating an atmosphere in which students are invited to actively engage not only with the seemingly most mundane parts of their environments, but with the artistic creations of acquaintances, friends, and strangers alike.
