Building Communities in SOMA - 600 7th Street is a 221 unit development located in the SoMA area of San Francisco serving the formerly homeless and low-income families.
The proposed mix of units included 120 studios and 100 family units (1- to 3-bedroom units), and one manager’s unit. The “family wing” will include 79 units for family households with incomes ranging between 50%-80% Area Median Income (“MOHCD AMI”), averaging to no more than 60% MOHCD AMI, as well as 20 units for homeless families. All 100 studio units and 20 family units set aside for formerly homeless adults and families (54% of total units) are expected to be subsidized by the City’s Local Operating Subsidy Program (“LOSP”).
The building is eight stories total, with Type I-B concrete frame construction. Common spaces will include two community rooms, offices for property management and supportive services as well as building maintenance spaces. Retail spaces facing Brannan Street. The total new construction area is approximately 185,757 square feet.
